My daughter goes to kindergarten, and there is a boy there who is blind.
She didn't understand what this meant, so I explained.
The next day when I picked her up, I found her sitting across from the boy with her eyes closed, describing what trees looked like.
The boy was grinning from ear to ear.

I am a third grade teacher.
Most kids come in with notes or messages written by their mothers in their lunch sacks.
One little girl's dad left, and her mother abuses drugs. But her 12 year old brother never fails to write "I love you" on her brown paper bag.

I am a teacher for second graders.
This past week we've been learning about facts and opinions.
I said the statement "You are beautiful." A little girl raised her hand and said it was a fact.
When I told her no she said, "Everybody is beautiful. No matter what, they are beautiful."

A young boy walked proudly into the restaurant that i wait tables on with his grandmother, ordered two seats and clumsily carried his grandmothers purse for her to their table.
When i asked him what the special occasion was, he smiled and said "it's my grandma's birthday and since grandpa is in heaven, I'm her date!"

Football Night

Another good night of football at JP. Except for the injuries we picked up, it was a fun night out to forget our troubles just for a little while.

Macam setahai kami main pakai training bibs and we looked like we were training for a national competition. Main pun steady jua lah ehehe.

New technique was learned. We call it the Hanif ball shield.

Btw next time hopefully the Manggis Brothers will be back in action coz we really need to bolster our defence.

Alhamdulillah another great opportunity for the family and cuzzies to get together for prayers, good food and good laughter.

We got a chance to learn and experiment with a few games for a possible game night.

Dani took us through some basic techniques used in charades and we had a few good guesses.

We also tried playing the guessing table game from “Inglorious Basterds” where you write a name of a character on a piece of paper and pass it to the next person. The person without looking at the paper will stick it on his/her forehead and try to guess his/her identity by asking questions.

Overall it was a fun night out and hopefully will continue to bring the family together.

Last night after terawih the boys got together again to blow off some steam with our planned weekly JP football outing.

This time three imports joined the lineup, cuzzies of hanif’s. Sekalinya nada lagi the ‘no contact’ rules bah. Everyone was rujuh sana rujuh sini. It was packed that nite but was an awesome game.

Some highlights:

DibaNabaWaff…Bill~ was born.

Everyone’s fitness level was a marked improvement from the last few weeks.

Hanif showed mad Mascherano skills in bodychecks and ball winning skills.

The game lasted till 10.30 plus…

There was a star or two who stole a peek here and there ^^ looking down at what the lonely figure was so fascinated by. Lama berabis tani nada men-update blog ani… dunno y I feel like updating it. Let’s take a stroll down "’What sa been appenin’’ road now shall we….

Our beloved cuzzies and brothers Azri and Zayani have both successfully graduated and returned home safely to us. A hearty congratulations to them both and I pray your venture into the working world will be a blessed one amin~

Dani and Afiq got a taste of the working world, diving straight into the banking industry. ^^ Well done lads~

We (the boys) set up a weekly thing in an attempt to get active (baru jua 2 weeks ehehe). JP was the chosen venue and it was an almost perfect set up. First football game we organised and everyone was ampar nak mampos within 7 minutes!! cawi eh… Adding insult to injury kena chelen lagi tu oleh group budak2… nampak easy target kah tani ne?? na pa give us 3 months brothers, we’ll reach our glory! ^^

The other activity was the bumper cars in JP. It’s really enjoyable to relive the old days and just get a lil competitive bumping around :p Apa lagi ganging up on victims ehehe

‘Suara Harapan’ by A Band Once is currently the official song coz its darn addictive.

Eggs Florentine is Awesome!!! (try Fleur De Lys)

We did not get to watch Despicable Me together :( coz no one wanted to strain their necks (only available seats were in front sekali).

Hanif bought F50!!! macam messi bah ia main scoring a goal in the process… training d tanah lapang kali ia tiap hari ^^

Nike Free Running is awesome, comfy and stylo… 3.0 for more of a barefoot feel, while go for the latest 5.0 ones for more foot support.

World Cup 2010 was a shocker for the most part. Certainly an exciting spectacle of blunders, surprises, upsets and crazy goals.

Try the baby pirate ship ride in JP… if you dare… ;p

Azzhar tried the Roti Telur Plastar at ‘Kadai Amit’ ehehe He loved it… kambang :)

Parents went to Madrid… Nuff Said!

Productivity with Gmail

When it comes to email, I find Gmail has become a preferred favorite mainly because of its web2.0 feel and the great integration with Firefox. There are two features that has become a godsend for productivity in Gmail that I find lacking in other email services.

Labels and Filters

Labels are an awesome feature that allows me to organize my mail without being limited to where to put them (i.e folders). I can put multiple labels, and each label can function as folders for easy searching. For example Azri sends an email about his Alienware recommendation. To organize by folders, I have to decide to place the email either in my ‘Laptops’ or ‘Cuz’ folder. But in Gmail, I can label both keywords, so the email will be listed if I searched for ‘Cuz’ or ‘Laptops’ labels.

Filters is another function that I cannot live without in emails, and Gmail does it exceptionally well.

Yahoo mail uses the old skool filtering method. For example you set two separate filter criteria

the 1st – From: Azri@cuzzis.cuzz, place in ‘Cuz’ folder;

2nd – From: Dani@cuzzis.cuzz, place in ‘Family’ folder

Then when an email comes in (say its from Dani@cuzzis.cuzz) it will go through the 1st filter first to see if it is from Azri@cuzzis.cuzz, then if its not, it checks the 2nd filter. In this case the 2nd is true so the email is moved to the ‘Family’ folder. Yahoo also limits only around 15 filters can be created for its free account.

Gmail is more straightforward in that you can set as many criteria as you want. For example,

Filter1 – From: Azri@cuzzis.cuzz OR Afiq@cuzzis.cuzz, apply label: Cuz;

Filter2 - From: Azri@cuzzis.cuzz OR Dani@cuzzis.cuzz, apply label: Family.

In this example all emails will be checked against each filters independently, and any matching criteria will be given the label. So emails from Azri@cuzzis.cuzz will have both the labels ‘Cuz’ and ‘Family’.

Gmail also has a ‘Search rather than Sort’ approach where you can easily find messages you want using its search function. It takes advantage of Boolean functions and labels search. For example if I just want to see all unread messages EXCLUDING emails in the ‘Cuz’ label I will do a search for “label:unread label:-Cuz”… (the minus sign before ‘Cuz’ will exclude the label from the search)

Since i'm getting back into blogging to keep this blog alive, I'll share some of my interests with all of you.

MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) is a fast growing sport in the world today. With the major fight organisation, UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship), gaining worldwide popularity, the sport of MMA has gone mainstream and is a big hit for pay-per-view TV.

Some may misunderstand it as the dirty sport of cagefighting but MMA has shown to be a valid sport, just like any other martial arts like boxing and Muay Thai. The thing that makes this sport so appealing is the combination of multiple disciplines into one sport. Major disciplines include JiuJitsu, Muay Thai, kickboxing, wrestling, boxing and kick-assery.

Amongst notable fighters today are:

Brock Lesnar (people know him from the WWE days),
George St Pierre (Canadian fighter who is highly skilled in all areas of MMA)
Ken Shamrock (also known for his days in the WWE/WWF)
Randy Couture (a Legend of the sport)
Anderson Silva (c gondol portuguese a real ass kicker)
Matt Hughes (timing berabis but a great fighter)

More about the sport for some other time. For now these gladiators should be inspiration enough to kick ass out there.

When the philosophers play football

The dream team from philosophy takes the pitch for an epic match. The Greeks played their top players which includes Socrates, Plato and Aristotle, while the Germans kept their heavy playmaker, Karl Marx on the bench. They however field their strongest player, Franz Beckenbauer, nicknamed “The Emperor”, to play alongside top philosophers Hegel, Karl Jespers, and Immanuel Kant. The referee for the match was Confuscius from China.

The first half ended a nil-nil draw with neither players touching the football. Karl Marx was brought in the second half to spark the German team, but was unable to give answers. Socrates, the captain for Greece, managed to score the only goal of the match with a header from a beautiful cross by Archimedes.

The goal didn’t come without controversy as Hegel argues that “the reality is merely an a priori adjunct of non-naturalistic ethics, Kant via the categorical imperative is holding that ontologically it exists only in the imagination”. Karl Marx argues it was offside but Confuscius waves away the protests. The Greeks managed to create an upset win with the final score line Greeks 1 Germans 0.

I got a pleasant surprise when they brought in a nice 'fruity' birthday cake just after lunch during that Family Fun Day last Sunday, 12th April, 2009. There was a short 'Doa Selamat' recited by the guest 'Sheikh' from Singapore. Then, obligingly I cut the delicious cake whilst the birthday song was sung by the 'cuzs' group.......Happy Birthday Pamit........semoga panjang umur, sihat wal-afiat, luas rezeki dan segala amal ibadah diterima dan direstui Allah s.w.t.

Two of the main attractions in the Temasya Hari Keluarga DP Haji Md Hashim were the Bouncer and the Slide. Thanks to Li'l Azzhar in the Jawatankuasa Alat Kelengkapan for his novel idea of including these super 'kelengkapan' - they really emanate great fun and enjoyment for both children and adults alike!!!!

TEMASYA HARI KELUARGA DP HJ MD HASHIM - 2009 (PART II)

After the Aerobic/Poco-Poco and Walkathon Sessions, the formal part of the Program kicked off at 9.00 am. The Emcee of the Day, Bung Hilmi, gave an opening speech whereby he thanked the members of the Organising Committee for their hard work and dedication to make the event a reality. He also thanked the Chairman, Abang Zun, for his initial idea which triggered the organisation of the event and Bung Hilmi extended his appreciation to all family members for their presence as well their full (moral and financial) support to make the event a real success.

This was followed by a reading of Doa Selamat recited by none other than Nini Angah Salleh. Then it was time to have a 'heavy' breakfast! The menu was prepared by a breakfast sub-committee led by Kaka Zat and this was how "the order of the food" looked like for the whole day event

The Big Day - Temasya Hari Keluarga DP Haji Md Hashim - 12hb April 2009

It was Sunday, 12th April 2009 and the morning was cool and slightly breezy. There was some rain the night before, but not this morning. The Mabohai family had already checked in at Lampaki on Saturday night. So were Jobe and Dannie from Jerudong. Afiq decided to do the same as well........ so you can imagine how packed the Lampaki mini palace was that evening!!

The program for the day kicked off with aerobic and 'Poco-Poco' session. An instructor from the Fitness Zone was called in to lead this session with most family members eagerly and enthusiastically turned up in full force as early as 7.00 o'clock in the morning. I can see Nenek Mabohai and Babu Utih "tidak ketinggalan menggoyangkan punggung bersenam robik dengan megahnya" and the aerobic session was followed with the walkathon along the route specified by Hanif earlier. (Hanif even posted some arrows along the pebbled road to indicate direction to follow!)

Yang sakit belakang, yang rapuh tulang dan sesiapa yang menghidapi sakit sendi-sendi tulang tu.......... berhati-hati lah bila bersenam robik apalagi ber'poco-poco'........

Unfortunately, the initial Poco-Poco session lasted only for half an hour since the Instructor had to leave for another appointment. So when Nini Angah & Family and Nini Asmak and family arrived (as well as Nini Bulat and Nini Uncu), we had to redo the aerobic and Poco-Poco session and this time it was led by none other than Dannie and Company!!!!

FINAL MEETING OF ORGANISING COMMITTEE AT LAMPAKI

It was Friday afternnon, 10th April, 2009 - two days before the Family Fun Day was scheduled to be launched - and frantically the Organising Committee decided to have a final meeting to ensure all final details and preparations were in place before the big event on Sunday, 12th April. They had chosen Lampaki (the venue for the actual Family Fun Day) as the meeting place and Auntie Jah and Uncle Yunos agreed to host the meeting as well as provide some "makan", of course!!!

Working Committee Meeting for Family Fun Day

The complexities and intricasies of organising such a big event as the Family Day requires careful planning and meticulous preparation. This onerous task is voluntarily taken up by the Organising Commitee chaired by Zunnur (Jobe) and his small team (including lil Mizan and Azzhar). Several meetings were held in Mabohai, Jerudong and Lampaki to trash out the details and mechanism of raising the required fund to get the event going.

A week before the event, a full meeting was organised in Jerudong to finalise the Day's program and to examine the financial report submitted by the Treasurer.

TEMASYA HARI KELUARGA MABOHAI 2009

Hello, Welcome Back!! This blog really requires a new lease of life. It has been on "hiatus" mode for such a long period that one tends to forget its existence. Anyway, we have really a good excuse to revive it again with the latest family news - The Family Fun Day - which was organised last weekend (Sunday - 12th April 2009) at the Lampaki Estate.

Let's start off with looking at the invitation cards sent to all the uncles and aunts as well as the granduncles and grandaunts. The cards look something like this:

To organise such a big event, of course, we need an Organising Committee. So, Jobe voluntarily agreed to be the Chairman and he is assisted by several members comprising of:
Phew.....what were Hamizan and Azzhar doing there in the Organising Committee??? I know for sure that Azzhar has been drafted into the Jawatankuasa Kelengkapan (may be to lay out the prayer mats during Sembahyang Berjamaah???)

Some missing family members.

Everyone's busy with the upcoming party we're having this new year's eve for Grandmum's birthday and most of our cousin's won't be here to celebrate it with us, Abg Zay (UK), Abg Zun (AUS), Abg Az (UK), Kaka D (KL) and a parent as well, Pamit in Aus. So, there's less hands involved in this party this year...meaning more to do for us here. Hahaha. Oh, not forgetting that we're having it at the 'new' house, of course everyone knows where that is. Haha.

Oh, we're actually thinking of making a performance during that day but...HAHAHA...kami sucky...sooo...it's still under considerations. Plus, we never got to make the performance we wanted to make during mother's day soo, maybe this is the time!! :p We'll see about it. It'll be fun and FUNNY.

Anyway, we're having games for the kids and the old, tons of prizes to be given away, and of course lucky draw (I guess this could be said as the crowd favourite). OHH! We're actually thinking of making 'bop it' as one of the games for the adult! Hahaha. It'll be funny, just like how Pamit started. It was hilarious! :p It'll add more 'fun' to the party.

Okay. I guess that's it. Just updating abit so the family members overseas knows what we're doing here. We'll update photos of the preparation and the actual day soon insyAllah.

The days of our lives

The tittle actually sounds abit too big for what I am about to write, but I like it, so don't judge :p

Soo, i've been spending my 10 days of December, overseas and it's been an amazing experience. It's probably my third time being away from my family. This time i'm with the J.C (inside joke :p) and one of the M.C (again...inside joke) family. Experiencing the student life overseas which me, Dani and Abg Afiq will hopefully be going through ourselves in years to come...Amin...

Anyway, the first day we arrived, it was abit of a suprise since we didn't think it would be that 'hot' and before we came here, me and Abg Afiq thought that what the parents meant by 'no airconditioner' was like saying, 'it's just not working' but instead it was literally saying 'THERE IS NO AIRCONDITIONER'. First night was something to get used too, and as days go on, the weather, the heat was just another thing we get by throughout each day. We do still say it's hot but we don't complain, there's nothing we can do about it anyway. HAHA.

We travel by foot most of the time, bus as well, not forgetting the city cat (person-ferry) and the train. Walking TO our destination always seem fast as we get all hyped up thinking of the things we'll get and the "BOOST" (a smoothie bar) drinks we'll be drinking, although walking BACK home seems never-ending...tired, aching foots as well as the chilly weather on certain nights. Nonetheless, it's always fun having your family as company, the laughters, the tease, the 'speaking in Malay because they all don't understand' thing we do. HAHA. The worst part about being here is missing the people back home, family members of course (:

We spend most of our days shopping...more shopping and even more... We came here, invited, to attend our beloved cousin, Mohd. Zunnurain Haji Zaini's graduation on the 10th of December 2008 at University of Queensland due to his achievement in Multimedia Design. CONGRATUALTIONS. Jangan LADIS-LADIS (inside joke...HAHA). Another memorable day I could say was the day we went to the Art Musuem which Hamdi insisted in going. It wasn't 'THAT' bad, it would've been better if we went to the Scientific Museum but oh well... I could say that on the 15th December would be 'a day well spent', we went to the LONE PINE KOALA SANCTUARY where we saw, touched, fed, took photos with as well as SMELT smelly animals. That late evening, we went down to Gold Coast, a tourist attraction. We ate at this Malaysian restaurant, we had the KING CRAB~ Seriously HUGE! A meal that I would say, as a 'never could be forgotten' dish, (there's a story behind it) just simply crazy but in the end, I guess it was all worth-it.

Tonight, my last day being here, I can honestly say it is/was definitely a memorable experience, another chapter to be added in the book of 'life'. I'd have to say thousands of Thank yous to Mummy and Babah for letting me go, Amit and Pamit for inviting me over and taking good care of me, for everything of course, (providing us food, shelter as well as showing us a good time). It surely is something I appreciate. Thank youuu...Thank you...and Thank you...

At times, days just seem longer but now it's time to go home. The 10 days are over, no more waking up fighting for the toilet to take a bath first, 'who's things are these?' questions to hear, seeing Hamdi's tummy bouncing as he constantly flashes it to us, seeing it jiggle up and down (and all those things his tummy can do. HAHA), no more late night movies we watch just to make us fall asleep, no more waiting on bus stops and making fun of the woman standing next to us just because she's on the phone and talking as if the other person on the other line was deaf. HAHA)...just all these little things we do is something memorable.

I end this, Finally making a post after such a long time of being in Hiatus. Congratulations to Abg Zun, thank you to the loving parents and we'll be seeing everyone later this evening. We'll be flying off around noon so, i'm signing off now. It's around 3am here and we're watching "Saw V" soo... good night and sweet dreams!

As you all may have known, some of the Mabohai cuzin members travelled to aussie to celebrate their undearest cuzin awang Ain graduate on the 10th of december 2008 at the University of Queensland... (right now my buttocks is in PAIN). Tonight( 1.50 am 17th december) will be the last night for us members in Aussie as we had back to Brunei in the afternoon. Right now everybody is playing with their own lappys, Abang Afiq is busy skyping, Abang Zun busy writing his 'so called Novel' and Kaka fif chatting and I aka. dannyboy wiriting this blog... Sorry for my english ah kalau salah, Wawawawa.....

We all are just waiting for 'Saw 5' to be burned into dvd so we can watch Not so Hi-def on the NECK Tv and enjoy the gruesome and thrilling action pack heartbelching movie that we all grew up and love to see...

We heard the news from University of Queensland (UQ) today, 26th November, 2008. Our beloved cousin, Jobe (Muhammad Zunnurain), has passed his final semester examinations at UQ. He is expected to receive his degree, Bachelor of Multimedia Design, from the Chancelor of University of Queensland on Graduation Day to be held on 10th December, 2008, at UQ Centre, St. Lucia Campus.

We take this opportunity to express our heartfelt Congratulations to Jobe for this outstanding achievement. You are the first grand child of the late Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Hashim and Datin Hajah Masni to graduate with a first academic degree. Well done!!

Let this be a motivating force for the other siblings and cousins to follow suit and excel in their academic studies. We are all proud of you, J O B E !!!!!!

It has been more than a month since this blog's been updated, we've all been busy with our exams and assignments and no one has time to update this like we used too. Soo...

I'm going to just write everything in one post instead of different ones; talking about different things. Anyway...to those who doesn't know, me and Nurul bought 'twin laptops'. She bought it a week after I did. I think it's already been 2-3 months since we got it, the tablet HP Pavilion tx2000. Drawings are fun to dooo. :)

Oh, remember on my last post I said I was going to bake cupcakes? Well, I did, that Saturday with Nurul. We printed out a recipe from the internet but didn't follow the exact ones given, but instead we made it our own. We changed quite alot of the ingredients...and guess what? It was NICE. Abit sweet but tasty... (Yes, it doesn't look pretty in that photo, because it just came out of the oven and the 'cup' thing wasn't opened yet. But that day was great, it was our first time baking cupcakes and it turned out perfect. Simply amazing. Since we made quite alot, we brought some to hafiz's birthday party the next day. Next task is to learn to bake a real CAKE! :D

We just got back from KL about a week ago and of course had to bring Burger King back here. Can you believe that was my FIRST time ever tasting Burger King cause as you people know, I don't eat burgers due to all those 'thingies' in it. The Mushroom beef burger was it?! was yummy. The only one I could eat that is (but still, eating it feels weird cause I've never eaten burgers before and I could still imagine it containing all those 'thingies' I don't eat in it). HAHA. But yes, it was nice. Soo...I missed 17 years of Burger King, just simply watching other people eat, enjoying it while I, feel disgusted as I thought there were onions and such in it (well, there is but not in the mushroom beef burger!). Such regrets. HAHA.

How I wish we had Starbucks here. Loved the Hot Chocolate and the Chocolate Cream Chip~ Since I don't drink coffee, Chocolate's my coffee. :) We had Starbucks the whole time we were in KL, just cause we knew that we weren't going to be able to taste it until the next time we go back there. The pastry there wasn't that bad either. Loved the crispy croissant~

I came to school, 7th June, a Saturday with a suprise waiting. A friend of mine texted me up to meet her in class to pick up something...and it was KRISPY KREMEs!! Flown over from Australia the day before by her sister who got us ONE BOX EACH!

(Love that! "best before: eaten by someone else!" HAHA) The infamous donuts we keep hearing from the Jerudong-ians were finally here. I shared with my family member and some of you guys, abg Afiq and someone, I forgot...since it's not something we can find here and i'm thankful I got to taste it since the last time we were suppose to have them, amit and pamit accidentally left it back in Aussie and abg Zun enjoyed it ALL to himself. It's extremely sweet though but taste good. Baby ate 2 and wanted more, that's how much he loved it. Hopefully, by reading this, Abg zun would get the hint. HAHA. =p

Hello everyone. It's been awhile since I've posted anything here and since I have some pictures to share and a SHORT story to tell, I just decided to blog and update a lil'.

It has been about two weeks now that Mizan has been "hanging out" in Mabo; no one at his place to look after him. Since he's here, he's always hungry after he comes back from Ugama and looking at his "CANGKIR" figure, I decided to get food for him and the rest of us too (I was actually the one hungry and made him as an excuse. HAHA. Kidding) Anyway, today I didn't feel like getting outside food and instead, made them something I saw my mum made last time. I have no idea if I was being observant buttt..."antam saja lah". See Photos below:

I know, it's a mess! Haha. But you can't blame me~ I had to do what I had to do to feed those kids. Even if I had to turn the whole kitchen upside downn! Haha.

But it sucks though. Cause I ended up eating tooo! Haha.

You know what I just found out after they finished eating? Jan jan ate the bread and left the chicken while Zhar ate the chicken and left the bread! (as seen above) HAHA. It was useless to put all those together when I could've just gave one; the chicken and one; the bread. HAHA. But anyway, atleast I tried and although it doesn't look good, they said it taste 'alright'. Ohh! and for the record, Mizan said I make better food than Nurul. HAHA.

Next task is to make "cupcakes" with Nurul. InsyAllah this saturday. Yayy! If it turns out good, i'll send some to all of youuuu to taste. =)

Hi-tea at Japanese Ambassador

Got stress doing my report. So started to blog for awhile~ ahaha. As state above, this Hi-tea happen on the 29/3/2008. The Japanese embassy wanted to congratulate us (BJFA-UBD Chapter) on the hard work we put in the Japanese Language and Culture week. Since it was a huge success. They provide us an opportunity to go to the Japanese ambassador house and have hi-tea there.

Here is a group photo of all the people present.

Kendo people taking photo with Mr Miyazaki (we call him Miyazaki-sensei since he's already a san-dan (3-dan) rank) in the embassy doing a stance called Jodan-no-kamai.

If I'm not mistaken, the next picture is the japanese house wife with our Japanese teacher (second from the right) with orang menyampuk (takashi-san on the left). Miss Kono on the right is the person who taught some of us BJFA-UBD chapter member how to do ikibana (flower arrangment).
Here is a picture of Japanese people (including the ambassador, Mitsubishi corp people, one of the Japanese embassy people- Mr Ogihara on the far right, Japanese house wife and our Japanese teacher) with Lim Han (head of BJFA-UBD chapter) and Head of Language Center in UBD.

Calligraphy. Sited next to the entrance. I find this spot a beautiful place as the calligraphy is hang above a stone surrounded by smaller stone. The place is then covered by a skeleton like box (a frame la).

On the right, always saw her whenever there's event concerning with the Japanese embassy. I think she is the translator. On the left, she talks to me about some of the japanese culture when i was there. She told me about the "Hina-Matusri" (means Hina doll festival). Its a culture where they celebrate an event for girls. This festival is for the Japanese people pray for girls' happiness and health, eating special food and is held during the 3rd March (obtain from http://gojapan.about.com/cs/japanesefestivals/a/japanesegirlday.htm).

Sorry, it's me again - your resident guest blogger. He..he..., it has been a while that this site has not been updated. I know for sure that Jobe is pretty tied up with his project and assignments. So too Kyzr, with his looming exam just around the corner. Our cuz in Liverpool is also sitting tight with his exam commencing early May. So what are the rest of us doing? I suppose "menyibukkan diri" lah!! That's why I volunteer to put pen to paper this time, just to keep the momentum going and help those in the exam 'fever' take a short break and glance through this site, once in a while.

There's nothing much to write this time, of course. Things are pretty quiet at the moment - but I'm sure everybody is looking forward to that KL trip next month. Sorry Jobe, you won't be able to make it this time but we'll have a reunion in June when you're back for your short vacation.

You can customize almost any functionality to the browser, and add cool features...

Current useful extensions I use:

CustomizeGoogle - This allows google customisation such as adding results to other search engines on the google webpage, turn on google word suggestions, rewrite links to point straight to images in google image search, remove ads, and other additional features for google.

AdBlock Plus - allows blocking ads on webpages.

Stop Autoplay - This is really useful as it stops any embeded video/audio from playing automatically when u open a webpage. U know how many times u get annoyed when u click a link to a page and a video just starts playing (eg. the stupid police vid i posted a while ago)... This extension is a great fix...

Download Helper - any embedded flash video can be ripped from a site with this tool, and you can customize it to use your own download manager.

Drag de Go - You can highlight a word to drag it to your built in google search box or address bar and other cool things... for eg. someone typed a web address that isn't clickable, instead of copying and pasting, u can drag the address to address bar...

IETab - A webpage only works in IE? dont want to open a new browser? with IETab u can view the current webpage in IE right in the firefox browser with a single click... and only that page and links clicked on it is in IE, the rest of your tabs will still be FF...

Tab Mix Plus - Added functionality to tabbed browsing....

Stumbleupon - Awesome fun tool that kinda works like digg and del.ici.ous.... U create an account where u specify your interested topics and u click the stumble button to get a random page on your topics, and just click "i like it" or "i dont like it"... It works as a social webpage rating and bookmarking tool.

There are a bunch others geared towards web developers, and some widget like extensions... Overall alot of added functionalities that makes browsing the web a blast...

Btw... its been awhile since I caught up with the latest diggnation episodes, and I haven't been digging enough at digg.com lately...

I have a few epis downloaded and ready to watch...

For those not familiar with digg.com, its a social news website where user submits the stories and other users "digg" (vote) them up to the front page...

Diggnation is a podcast show that talks about the top stories on digg.com that week, and hosted by Techtv's favourite Kevin Rose, and funny dude Alex Albrecht... These two can be hilarious in a casual laid back way... but they do keep up with the latest tech trends... And Kevin is a mac fan while Alex roots for Microsoft... healthy rivalry I tell ya...

So to encourage me to catch up with things...

I would describe podcasts as radio or talkshows... They are free, and easily subscribed to from itunes... Podcasts are hidden gems because nowadays high quality production can easily be found and ranges in topics.... Video podcasts have also emerged dominantly on the web which rivals the TV shows in content...

For example for fitness enthusiasts, The Fitcast will be an excellent subscription... The host talks about up to date news in the world of fitness and includes world class strength conditioning guests, being a weekly episode...

In the tech world, you have a massive choice, wether your interest is on photoshop or web news, to gadgets and web entertainment... I have been a fan of techtv back when they were on in Astro...

Right now we have Revision3, a company producing our favourite Diggnation podcast featuring the funny Kevin and Alex, Techzilla podcast, Systm and many others.... TWiT.tv is Leo Laporte(from Techtv)'s network of podcasts with my favourites being TWiT and Net@Night...

I am staying in the whole day today...I have this back ache (probably a slipped disc) which makes me feel incapacitated. Babu and kaka Zat went to town to do some errands...to Chinatown, getting halal meat and chicken from Ismail Butcher etc. When they got home, they had a few surprises for me. They brought some mini cream puffs and large cream puffs from , where else - Beard Papa's. They stumbled upon Beard Papa's in Brisbane City Centre Central Station - selama ani inda perasan ada Beard Papa's di Brisbane ani - how sweet! They also brought along a few egg tarts to my liking!!

(Jester and Jerrinaldo - there you have them: Krispy Kreme, Beard Papa's, Cup Cakes and Egg Tarts!!!)

Time to depart.....took a Virgin Blue 3.00pm flight to Brisbane. But before we left for the Sydney Airport, Kaka Zat and Babu quickly sneaked into Cupcakes on Pitt; got a boxful of cup cakes of all sorts and at the Sydney airport managed to squeeze in another box of the infamous Krispy Kreme. Taking a cruise around Sydney Harbour

It's a Monday bright afternoon - perfect weather to take a cruise around Sydney harbour. Took a ferry operated by Captain Cook Cruises, sailed lazily around Sydney harbour, a few outlying islands, across Sydney Bridge and ending at Darling Harbour.

At Darling Harbour, we took some time to explore the Sydney Wildlife World and managed to immerse ourselves among the sharks, seals, crocs, Nemo, etc..at the Sydney Aquarium. Will ask Jobe to post the pictures later on.

We left Brisbane on Sunday morning, taking off from the domestic airport terminal at 8.00 am in the morning. Arrived in Sydney airport at 10.30 am local time (Sydney time one hour ahead of Brisbane) and immediately checked in at Ibis Accor Hotel located right in the Sydney city centre, along Pitt Street. Had a quick lunch at a halal Indian Michi stall in World Square food court (right in front of the Ibis hotel). The big combo meal was delicious - a plate of rice with a choice of 3 curries; babu ordered a portion of beef khorma with crispy hot nan, plus not forgetting the succulent aromatic chicken tikka!! With our stomach full and energy recharged, we headed towards Sydney Harbour, eagerly looking forward to enjoy the panoramic view of the Sydney Opera House against the background of the famous Sydney Bridge.

We had spent almost three hours at the Circular Quay and Sydney Opera House. It's time to move on and the day is slowly getting darker (though it does not really get that dark till 8.00pm in the evening in Sydney). Perut pun sudah mulai lapar lagi, so it's Zunnur's birthday the next day anyway, why not we have a sumptous dinner at the Halal Chinese Neptune Palace Restaurant.

Included in the menu were Schezuan chicken, Chinese beef steak, egg plants cooked in peculiar Chinese style, deep fried quails ...............yum ....yummmy!!!!Happy birthday Jobe.....enjoy your sightseeing in Sydney.

Indooroopilly - here I come

The weather in Brisbane continues to be kind to us today - slight drizzle, but not too wet and the temperature is cool and soothing. Had a nice 3/4 km walk from Austral Street to Toowong Centre and from there caught a bus to Indooroopilly. The bus conductor misheard what Kaka Zat requested: instead of getting day return off-peak fares, we were given single tickets costing AUD $2.30 for each adult. We could have paid just slightly more to get return tickets and potentially saving almost 50% of the fare for two single tickets had we got a day return ticket.

Today is Saturday and shops normally close earlier during weekends in Australia (by 4.30pm some are already drawing down their shutters). By the time we reached Indooroopilly, it was already 2.00pm. Well, we still have two or three hours to roam around and I had a peek at the City Beach store to see whether there're interesting tees for Dannie; sorry Dan the sleeves are too short for your liking and hence we got out of the store empty-handed.

Kaka Zat and Babu seemed to be enjoying themselves and certainly making lots of progress! Couldn't help noticing their hands full of plastic/paper bags!! Oho..oo we stumbled upon the BOOST kiosk - kaka Zat's favourite fruity juice outlet! It was a year and a half ago since I last tasted this succulent and luscious fruity drink and I can't help yearning for it when I saw it in front of my eyes. Jobe kindly enough 'belanja' us and you know what? Under strict instructions from Kaka Zat, I only managed to get a small cup whereas kaka Zat and Jobe got away with two LARGE cups of those delicious drinks. Oh well, I got my mango+banana+other fruits (couldn't remember) in my blended smoothie and ma..a.a..a..an...it is not only enough to quench my thirst, it tastes real d e l i c i o u s........

Enough rumbling for today; need to pack up, ready for the Sydney adventure starting tomorrow.

Since Dannie is going to take up Business/Commercial Studies as one of his 'A' Level subjects, I would like to reproduce a quote from President George W Bush as follows:-

My apologies if I am intruding your blog page - you may argue that I am not officially a registered member of this blog site. But then you may consider that I am a special guest member who wants to contribute something useful rather than letting this site be outdated (majority of the members are too busy to post anything on a regular basis - let alone those "little members" who don't even yet reach the "literate" age of being able to read and write!!)

As you are fully aware, I am now in Brisbane just dropping in to say hello to Jobe and to see how he progresses with his student life here in Aussie. I had expected that it is going to be hot here in Summer but to my surprise it is rather cool and wet with lots of rain throughout most days. I have forgotten to bring my red MU raincoat which I bought in Manchester a few months back (not that I am diehard MU supporter!), but at least it could be quite handy in this rainy season.

The city of Brisbane has changed a bit since I last visited here almost one and half years ago. I almost could not recognise the Queen Street Mall; many new shopping establishments have sprung up and some renovation works have been completed which had caused me to lose my orientation a bit.

Managed to drop by at the Apple Store in Myers Centre this afternoon. Not a real Apple Centre, I guess. No Mac geniuses seem to be present and, to my disappointment, the Macbook Air is not yet on display. Unlike Dani's recent visit to Apple Store in Manchester recently which had all the latest Mac products on display, the Brisbane store appeared to be more mediocre. However, I find the prices of softwares like I Life and I Work 08 to be quite competitive compared to the Singapore prices - menyesal pulang ku berpasan di Singapura hari atu!!

On Sunday, we will be flying to Sydney and will have more stories to tell from there. In the meantime, happy reading and don't forget to post interesting stories or thoughts to this blog site! See you all soon.

I declare Summer Semester 07/08 officially OVER!!!

And WHAT A GAME!!! ladies and gents... Now that's what I call a Superbowl!...

The New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning started off solid in the first quarter but somehow slacked off as the game entered the 2nd quarter, making seriously ridiculous errors of judgment, and poor throws.

But man did their defence step up.... Every time the New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady sets up for a throw, he would see a huge linebacker closing on him fast, or more often don't even have time to see the tacklers coming as he receives an arm in the face and end up flat on his back.

But given some time and space, Brady is quality to be envied as he sets up quick successions of first downs for the Patriots...

The game came down to the wire... 50 seconds left on the timer... Giants down by four points and needed no less than a touchdown... The snap came... Eli Manning sets up but was crowded by linebackers and his bodyguards, however beat the odds and managed to break lose to throw a long pass... David Tyree making a spectacular acrobatic back dive catch and it was first down with 39 seconds left in the game... On the edge of my seat... Now or never for the Giants...

The snap, Manning sets up and throws a long corner pass.... Plaxico Burress on the receiving end and

TOUCHDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWN GIANTS!!!!!

It was surreal... emotions ran high... fans went mad... The Giants pull off the upset of the season...

New England Patriots - 14 // New York Giants - 17

THE NEW YORK GIANTS ARE THE SUPERBOWL XLII CHAMPIONS!!!

If the Patriots had won that game, they would have gotten a perfect season, winning all their matches bringing a record of 19-0, becoming the second team to win every match of the season... Better luck next year boys....

Apple is all about design... It shows in how they package their products jua... Have u ever bought a macbook? the box itself is a bag and the packaging inside straightforward, and unlike Windows stuff, nada packed with so many manuals (iatah c dannie suka)...

For this iPod its designed to be a gift box tarus, sama jua the iphone masa tu...

I guess the presentation of Apple is far more appealing.... The only thing is that they force you to buy peripharels which u don't really need but can't help but get...

Ok flight, very low profile, few bruneians, got both seats so i can stretch and menalorr as i want...

The flight attendants didn't recognise me as bruneian... Jumpa org yg dikenali, bekawan(sort of) ngan org yg belum di kenali....

Back home in J-Rue-Dong was awesome ass... The cuzzies were there with their pimping hoodies, kyzr with his rambut ikal panjang, hilmz with his rambut siasi, azharr ngan mulletnya, afiq ngan mulletnya, jobe ngan mulletnya, dannie ngan wig-nya...

Fifah sama Nurul were also present despite examz the next day... the meal was delicious, chicken,chicken and more chicken...

Overall it felt good to be amongst a crowd that cares...

The party has just begun... we crash at awangku's house tonight and then at j-rue-dong again tomorrow...

Assalamualaikum to my fellow readers of H.E. I as one of the active members would here inform that we are about to celebrate or may I say, REDO hari raya again. HAHA. (I should stop with talking all formal. =p)
Anyway, this is due to Muhammad Zunnurain Zaini's arrival to his beloved Brunei Darussalam on this upcoming 7th November. This is soooo kewlll! I mean, we've never done this REDO raya thing. Well, I know Raya's not over yet but ya knowww~ With school and work, no one's being raya-ing. BUTTT!!! Me and Abg Afiq's going to have our Sociology exam that very next day and sooooo...the REDO hari raya would not be as much fun as I would imagine. Haishhh. Oh well, studies come first, raya goes second! BUT!!! I'm gonna be there. Like abg Zun said, 'study in the car lahh'. HAHA. BAGUSSS! 5 biji putih telur
225g gula castor
110g tepung gandum atau tepung halus
10g susu tepung atau tepung aiskrim vanilla
135ml mentega cair
1 sudu makan rata penstabil
1 sudu teh esen vanila
1 sudu teh perasa coklat
1/2 sudu teh serbuk penaik

coklat nutella atau pes kacang hazel

Cara membuat
1. Satukan telur, gula dan penstabil, lalu pukul perlahan hingga naik dan pekat. Masukkan tepung, susu dan serbuk penaik. Pukul lagi hingga rata.
2. Masukkan mentega cair dan esen vanila, kacau rata.
3. Ambil 5 senduk adunan dan masukkan perasa coklat. Kacau hingga rata. Baki adunan masukkan ke dalam beg pipping.
4. Sediakan 2 loyang berukuran 10x10x1 inci, alas dengan kertas dan sapu dengan mentega. Tuang adunan coklat dan ratakan di dalam loyang. Picitkan adunan dari beg pipping.
5. Bakar didalam ketuhar bersuhu 180c selama 20-25 minit. Sejukkan seketika.
6. Keluarkan kek dari dalam loyang. Potong tepi keliling kek.
7. Sapu Nutelle atau pes kacang hazel di atas lapisan coklet dan lipat dua kek tu. Bungkus dengan kemas dan simpan dalam peti sejuk.

TADAAAA! Tapak kuda is made! Haha.

it is raya n we as *ahem* kids receive our ever so deserving angpau. we cannot ignore this vry tradition, it is rude n impolite n not 'raya-spirited' if we ever turn our heads from such a rectangular packet.

Anyways, out of all the angpau given only one stands out....
N the winner is .... Jerudong!!! *clapclap* *pheeweeet!!* *OMG ur so hot 'faints'*

u all have received the wonderful camel nuts right? at first i thought 'mengapa this angpau ada parut ani?' rupanya...

Batah eh buat dis experiment. hav to wait every 5 min to read the reading. now on da 3rd readin.. n kero-chan(frog) yg inda beranti senyumannya(true u know) yg do all the work here~ im jus menyampuk mencuri reading~ ehehe... >.< CRAP!! gugur ku!! ahaha... ^^ actually da fan gugur~ ehehe.. bagas ambil usb to tranfer pic..... but... Did u guys kno? its actually sunnat to buy new baju melayu for raya... surprising ya? n its always on discount sale bfore raya but not discount when u cut it la... murah kali ah!!!! me n my bro baru putung our baju masa atu n prob we're gonna get it during the 2nd day of raya... kami kan putung arah c Emma cause everyone went there on 'that' certain day but then me n dani ada tia baca a sign arah pintunya 'baju kurung only', so inda tia jadi..

It's been awhile since i've posted. Adik has been hugging the laptop most of the time, as you all know, Hua Ho di Habbo. Haha.

Puasa has been great so far other than that, I am currently having my exams. Hoping to do well and get over with lower six. Upper six's just around the corner where I hope to do well just like my cousins before me. In a way, you guys are my INSPIRATION laa. Haha.

Oh, and not forgetting CONGRATULATIONS to Abg Zay. Eyaa~ Now you feel how abg zun and kaka zat feels being away from the family. You know, Dani cried non-stop last night thinking of you. Hahaha. Kidding. Hope that you're adapting well there and don't forget to send us some pictures of the wonderful Liverpool! If you get the chance to take a picture of Torres, i'm the first person you should sent it too. It's a musttt! hahah.

Till then. I need to study people! =D Wish me luck.
